Rwanda’s new Ambassador to Kenya, Mr. Ernest Rwamucyo, presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Kenya, H.E. Dr. William Samoei Ruto, during a formal ceremony held at State House in Nairobi.
During this official ceremony, Ambassador Rwamucyo expressed a strong commitment to further strengthening the longstanding relationship and historical cooperation between Kenya and Rwanda.
He stated that he would work diligently to promote collaboration in various sectors, including trade, education, tourism, and security.
Ambassador Rwamucyo said: “I am committed to doing everything possible to ensure that the key of partnership between our two countries continues to drive development and foster good relations between our peoples.”
Kenya is one of Rwanda’s key partners in the East African region, with both countries sharing common values as members of the East African Community (EAC).
This partnership is reflected in joint development projects, mutual trade, and the ease of travel between the citizens of the two nations.
Ambassador Rwamucyo is a seasoned politician and diplomat who has previously represented Rwanda in various European countries. His new role will allow him to continue safeguarding Rwanda’s interests in Kenya and the wider region.
He replaces Ambassador Martin Ngoga, who had been Rwanda’s envoy to Kenya for several years.
Ambassador Ngoga made notable contributions in enhancing bilateral relations, particularly in promoting trade, investment, and diplomatic cooperation.
During his tenure, he focused on advancing Rwanda’s interests in the East African region, prioritizing unity, security, and development. The transition to Ambassador Rwamucyo marks a new chapter in the continued journey of building strong ties between Kigali and Nairobi.
Rwanda and Kenya remain committed to close cooperation for the benefit of their citizens and the broader region.
